NTI Season Opener Association Meeting 1/23/2005

Eric Kleinsorge, President, NTI called the NTI Baseball Association meeting to order at 5:00 PM in the Flower Mound Fire Station on Forums Drive. Attendees are at Enclosure 1.

During the meeting, the President addressed the following:

End of Season 2004 Goals Review

Goal#1: Expand to 10 Associations
Where we stand: Accomplished with addition of Denton ( Highland Village made motion, Coppell seconded motion), Argyle/Liberty (Coppell made motion, Lewisville seconded motion), and Keller ( Lewisville made motion, Coppell seconded motion).

•  Lake Cities and Denton combined and are playing under Denton ( Lewisville made motion, Highland Village seconded motion).

•  If Lake Cities Association joins NTI, Lake Cities' teams under Denton will have to comply with Lake Cities' rules and ensure 75% of the players are from Lake Cities (NTI President made motion, Lewisville seconded motion).

Goal #2: Have a minimum of 8 teams per age division:
Where we stand: Now have 8 or more per age division except 13U. The 13U division, however, grow with the possible addition of teams from Ponder and Grapevine.

Have a 16 game season with an end of season tournament.
Where we stand: March 11-13: Coppell sponsoring a “AA” USSSA tournament. Cost will be $350 + $100 gate fee.

•  Will have a minimum of a 16 game season.

•  Post-season tournament will possibly be free.

•  May have a post-season banquet.

• The will be 1 or 2 “AA” tournaments in the summer.

Goal #3: Expand into a North Division.
Where we stand: North Division could not be formed officially as NTI. End of season NTI World Series is very likely between NTI and North Division. World Series will be played between first place teams in each age division from NTI against the same in the North Division, which includes teams from Plano, Frisco, McKinney , and Sangor.

Goal #4 Provide all players with patches, commemorative pin, and trophies for first and second place.

•  Have patches on hand and on order.

•  NTI President made motion to use team fees to buy trophies for first and second place teams. HVA seconded motion.

•  Lewisville made motion to form an awards committee. Trophy Club seconded motion.

•  Will be able to order car window decals for approximately $12-$15.

Official Start Date of Season

• i. March 29, 2005 will be the official start date of the season.

• ii. Game dates are Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday (1 game) and Saturday or Sunday (double header).

• iii. NTI will ask its Scheduler, Eric Lawrence, to free up 1 Saturday for a USSSA tournament.

Tournaments

• i. Pre-Season: March 11-13 at Coppell.

• ii. Post-Season: NTI sponsored.

• iii. NTI will investigate if the top NTI teams in each age division can qualify automatically for USSSA State .

•  Uniform Information : Will be sent via e-mail.

•  Trophies : NTI will form a trophy committee.

NTI Night at Frisco Rough Riders' Dr. Pepper Stadium

• i. Guest Speaker was Kai Murray, Frisco Rough Riders. Mr. Murray brought hats for everyone and proposed NTI Night dates.

• ii. Will create special ticket prices with free game program and hat for the following proposed NTI nights at the stadium:

•  Sunday, May 1 at 2 PM

•  Friday, May 13 at 7 PM (Fireworks after game)

•  Saturday, May 14 at 7 PM

•  Wednesday, May 18 at 7 PM

•  Saturday, May 21 at 7 PM

• iii. NTI will place a “Frisco button” on the NTI website.

• iv. If a team sells 50 or more tickets for a game, the Rough Riders will place a free team photo in the program.

• v. Rough Riders website is www.ridersbaseball.com .

Can NTI support a 15U division : NTI will poll each association.

Key Dates

• February 4: Field availability slots required by each city.
• February 20: Mandatory Coaches meeting, Flower Mound High School
•  April 10: Next NTI Association meeting
• May 14 will be the projected last day of the regular season to allow 1 week to make up rain-outs

•  The meeting adjourned at 6:45 PM .
